Mankind is divided based on the simplest things.
Each person is unique in their looks, their background and beliefs,
Differences is what brings harmony to a choir as it sings.
It’s been screamed over the rooftops for centuries, so I’ll make this brief.
Why can't we be the same as a choir.
Each voice at a different note that compliments each other.
They come together to a beautiful symphony we admire.
Why can’t we see differences as what makes us brothers.
White against black, men against women, rich against poor.
When will we learn that life is too short for competition?
Each of the oppressed fights through the pile trying to find more,
More opportunity, but the privileged think they're in charge of the composition.
In this choir there is no established leadership.
However, the sopranos out shine the altos it seems.
We were made for each other for our fellowship,
But, they are the most heard, so they are most seen.
This is an ongoing fight for equality, I'm afraid we may never win.
We can shout all we want and it may make a difference.
But, there will always be that one soprano with a still lifted chin
Never afraid to shout back words full of ignorance.

On this side of heaven we will always be marked by our differences but in Christ we are all one. Gal 3:26-28 "for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God through faith. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male or female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus."
