People roam the streets day and night.
Each with their own story, their own fight.
Born with a hollow void in their hearts.
Hoping to fill it before it rips them apart.
The void sits there ready to pollute.
Created by the second bite of forbidden fruit.
Now they have a yearning deep in their souls.
And live in pursuit to fill the empty hole.
Trying to find joy in temporary fillers,
Things that are toxic, slow killers.
Some look to money and fame,
But end up living in their shame.
They bow down to the desires of the flesh,
The hole gets corrupted with guilt and fear meshed.
Sin travels in packs and never wanders alone.
Welcome one and it brings its friends along.
When one "fix" no longer does the trick,
They look for something stronger 'til they get sick.
They're looking for joy in all the wrong places.
Will they know that the one who fills the empty spaces,
Is the one that they're running away from?
If they don't find him what would they become?
He's the only one who'll give you validation.
He's the one you're afraid to bring up in conversations.
Some refuse to believe he even exists.
Even as you reject him he still persists.
He's the answer to every question.
He'll be your new obsession.
He wants you no matter what you've done.
He'll crown you and call you daughter or son.
Not only will he fill the hole in your heart,
But he'll give you a brand new start.
